Visitng MORE castles!!!
Tonight we were going to Paris... boy, were we excited or what? haha!! Today we decided to visit some more castles. We walked all the way down our hotel and make our way to Bacharach by foot!! It was so far!! We took like 45 min to walk there. However it was so cold that I wrapped myself with all the scarves that I brought out!! It was really to cold!!! I was freezing!! Finally we reached the cute little town of Bacharach. It was really interesting. The houses there were really interesting. We actually walked some weird route up the hill to the Burg Stahleck!!It is now a Youth Hostel for people to live in. But visitors can visit the external area of Burg Stahleck! Ying was like complaining about the muddy route because she was seriously not used to this kind of weird route. But I was really excited because I feel that I was on an adventure. Heehee. I was really happy!!! Anyway, when we were on the top, all of us felt happy and took a lot of pictures. Later on, we made our way down and discovered another route. We came across a burnt down domer in the 17th century. Really a very unique structure of its own. It was a better route down as we did not need to go through all those mud and dirt and Ying felt happier. Later on, we made our way on the train to Trechtinghausen where we were going to visit Burg Reichenstein. We bought some really cheap bread along the way but the taste was superb.
When we reached the castle, I felt that it wasn't interesting as the first one we went to. Because there were no dark underground or tunnels for me to climb into. haha but however, everything was too in placed. I think that it was a display castle museum. Haha. But I still enjoyed myself there. Later on, we moved on to try and find Burg Sooneck but we got lost because we believed in two german girls that it was not that route that go to Burg Sooneck but it was actually that route. So we were pretty disappointed. But we had to go back to the hotel because we had to pack our stuff and leave for Mainz station.
On leaving Obenheimbach I was really sad. It was one of the best countryside places I have been to! I like the kind of peaceful life there. I hoped to go back there again and visit the hotel as well!!
