Versailles Palace

5 years ago when I went to Paris, one of the most interesting places that I went to and had a deep impression of was Versailles palace. It was in the fifth zone of Paris and it was huge, magnificent, beautiful....
Below is a description of this palace by Madame de sevigne
I have returned from Versailles.
I have seen the beautiful apartments;
They are enchanting. If I had read about it in a story,
I would have built a chateau in Spain
to see its true nature
I have beheld and touched it; it is truly delightful.

Louis XIII had a hunting lodge and garden built in Versailles, but it was Louis XIV who was the one who built up the sumptous estate.
During our journey through Versailles we listened to audio recorder but it was of no use... cos i couldn't really figure out which one was which. We tour around the state apartments, we saw many great paintings,every room was very elaborately decorated and the best part was the Hall of Mirrors. As we walked through that part of the palace, the music and the mirrors and the light reflected in the room created a very beautiful and soothing atmostphere. The king's bed chamber was really magnificent and the room was gold in colour with elebarative art work and sculptures.
After a tour in the palace we went to walk in the garden. I really like the garden, it was as big as Bedok Central or even bigger... There were so many fountains around the whole garden and there was a hugh lake in the garden. Think that's it is the best garden in the world. There were horse carriages and golf cars. People were lying on the ground, rowing a boat in the lake, having picnics,talking, laughing and taking pictures. Everything seemed so beautiful that I was really sad to leave Versailles... we had to rush for a 8pm train and so we had to go off....
As we stepped out of Versailles, the storm clouds had gathered, sand was blowing into my eyes. It began to rain so heavily even with our umbrella we got wet. What a way to end my journey in Versailles, kind of describe my feelings as well... I feel sad to leave Paris....
