Venice--- the city of a 1000 islands

Venice, the dream city that I have always wanted to visit. Since I read merchant of venice from Shakespeare I was wondering, is there really such a city where the water surrounds it? Ta da.... Venice... the one place I dreamt of... the one place that i see in tv, dramas, movies but never get to visit! Finally I am there!!
On arriving Venice on a ship from Fuscilla campsite, I hopped down the ship with joy. What greeted me was a artistic church and many other tourists who were just as excited as me...there was like whispers of " are they japanese or are they koreans?" People even greeted me with japanese language which was so funny.
As I walked along the streets of Venice and crossing all the bridges that were joining all the islands together, I came across gondolas... I had been talking about the gondolas to my friends;it was a boat that was used in the past for the people of venice to get around the island. It was an elaboratively designed boat and after much persuasion by the gondolamen we decided to get on the gondola and went for a ride around Venice. We passed by the site where "ITALIAN JOB" was filmed.
I went to the city square and there were many pigeons flying around. I was really scared that their shit will just dropped down and lie on my head. I will simply freak out! We visited the Piazza San Marco. The palace and the church was beautiful. After that, we went around venice on foot. It was really like a maze. But we managed to walk around although always getting back to the same point sometimes.
Finally after a day of delicious ice cream, (I must proclaimed it to be one of the best ice cream I have ever tasted), shopping (bought a pair of earrings), we head back to fusilli camp to catch the train to Naples... where we will go to the La Capri Island..
