Setting off to Naples
After a night and another day in Venice, we set off to the train station to take a train to naples. It was a long ride.... Finally we reached Naples in the morning at around 10am. We went off to our hotel first and found that we actually chose a hotel right at the end of the road. It was such a long journey. The streets were dirty. Cars were everywhere and the traffic was in a mess. Ying didn't like Naples. But I was intent on seeing La Capri Island as my Piano teacher told me it's such a lovely place! I was really really dying to see it!
After we settled down in the hotel, we went to catch a bus to Naples. We had a hard time getting there as no one understood English. Luckily I brought along an Italian phrasebook and it did come to good use! Haha! Eventually we managed to catch the 12pm boat to La Capri Island and a return ticket at 5.45pm.
The cruise took 45 minutes to get to La Capri Island. Boy was I excited to be there! The bluest waters I have ever seen. I was so delighted, nervous and at the same time, dying to go to the BlUE GROTTO. The boat to Blue Grotto and the other parts of the island was due to set off at 230pm. Therefore, after buying the tickets, we went off to try out the food in La Capri Island.
Yummmmyyy... it was probably the best seafood pasta ever!! The clams were delicious and the drinks taste like sugar coated honey! I couldn't be more satisfied with the fact that I was feeling full and I was setting out on an adventurous boat ride around the island.
At 2.30pm, we went up the boat ... it brought us to various parts of the island...From Porto to Scugnizzo to Slatodi Tiberio then, Grotta Bianca, the blue grotto. We took another boat and had to pay extra cash. This time the boat was rather unique. We had to lie down in the boat... then the rower had to row us into the cave... the sun reflecting on the water.... so so blue....there the guy who row us in sang an Italian song... The cave was small but yet it was an amazing sight. Finally there were many other caves and there's one which the water is green. Beautiful sight!...This boat ride...was one of the best...I have sat on.
