Roma!

The next morning, we pack up our stuff and make our way to the train station again! This time, a very funny incident happened on the train! This was the bad part about travelling together without anyone knowing Italian language. Everyone was packing up their stuff going to the front of the train and there we were sitting down at the back like some idiots. The train conductor tried to tell us many times but We didn't understand him at all. Finally, a chinese lady came to us and speak to us in Chinese. "你们会讲中文吗?”“会阿”"Well u should have been told that there was a world war 2 bomb discovered on the railway track to Rome. Therefore, u will have to take a bus halfway to another station to take another train."... (lazy to write in chinese) "well yes..." "pack up your things and go to the front now! we are getting down soon"

We were rather stunned...not because of the bomb cos we were already told beforehand about it at the train station... but it's just that everyone on the train has been trying to tell us to move and we didn't understand. haahahah...

On the bus ride to another station, I met the cutest girl ever...she was like an angel! An Italian little girl who kissed me on the cheek before we board another train again! The feeling was so good! 사랑해!

Finally we reached Rome in the afternoon... we went to check in at a hostel called the "Guy's Hostel" Boy was it bad! IT was really bad... everything was spoilt and messy and dirty when we went into our rooms. But guess what? The person in charge was a Japanese Guy..amazing I thought.. But everyone who lived in the main building were caucasians. We lived in the other building...... Anyway, the conditions sucked!! There is more to talk about after I come back from the Colosseo.

Next we proceeded to the Colosseo.. it was old but truly magnificent! http://www.compart-multimedia.com/virtuale/us/roma/colosseum.htm--> The website on the roman Colosseo... it's an amphitheatre in the past... but much of it is in ruins now. Gladiator was shot there... Could You imagine yourself standing there in the past? Later on, with the ticket we went to Palatine. There were more ruins there... can't really describe... but didn't give much of an impression... we were rushing for time as it was going to close at 6pm... later on, we continued walking around the streets after leaving the area..There was another arch near the Colosseo and we took a few photos there before we left.

We walked past Monumento A vittorio Emanuele 2. I dipped my legs in the fountain there to ease off the heat and the tiredness of my feet! Rome was absolutely a city that's living in the past except that people are wearing modern clothes. Next we pass by Pantheon, Santa Maria Maggiore...many many fountains and squares and finally to La Fontana di Trevi, the Trevi Fountatin whereby if u throw a coin, you will come back to Rome...again... I definitely hope to come back with my lover in future. Ha! As for Ying, she said, "No I don't wanna come back!" Heehee, still very put off by the dirty streets, messy traffic i guess.

We head back to our hostel right after our meal in a macdonald. and guess what?! We had to bathe upstairs as the showers was spoilt downstairs. Upstairs in the attic was scary! I can't stand it! Oh yah.. and the lift to the 5th floor sucks too.. duh but anyway, we made some cool friends along the way.British and Canadian.. I can't wait for tomorrow...Kang is coming!
