shopping around Munich

wo...today Sigrid needed to go for a birthday party and therefore, we planned to go to Munchen by ourselves. Early in the morning, we had breakfast with Sigrid and then, we went out to Munchen by train. We were really excited as we really felt like shopping and buying some stuff. We ate a simple lunch, with bavarian suassages and then, we continued to visit the beautiful town. We went in domes and churches, and shopped. Bought a lot of stuff, later on, we ate Japanese food for dinner before we went back home. The funny part of the day was we couldn't find her house at first. Ying was really frantic. She thought she would be lost! Anyway we found our way back, cool day!

Touring around with Sigrid

Today was a special day. We toured around with Sigrid and her daughter. We went swimming in one of the lakes, Freibad lake. It was actually kinda grey in colour. But it's actually very clean. I brought my swimsuit to Europe so I could swim with them while Ying just laid down on the grass to chill out. Later on, we went to another lake ???? (can't remember the name anymore) It was nice little tour around the area, we bought alcohol along the way before going back to Sigrid's house for dinner.

oFF to Munchen

Early in the morning, Kang woke up and sent us off to the train station where we were getting ready to go to Munchen! I was really sad .... He kissed us goodbye... and we gave each other a hug. It was me and Ying...but anyway interesting things always happen wherever we go...

This time...we met a Panama guy who wanted to become a star on the train. The journey to Munchen was long but it was great to have someone to chat to during the 12 hours ride!

We reached around evening time. I called Sigrid up and she taught me how to get to the train station near her house, Ebenhausen. When I met her, she still looked the same! It was so good to see her again after 5 years, she drove us to her house in her little blue Mercedes car and we had dinner with her daughter. It was the first time I see her daughter and she looked so young. We had a very simple meal... hollunder syrup juice, ham, bread, fish and later on alcohol ice cream. It was good! Tres bien.

We slept in the basement where there were two beds. It was extremely cold that day.. I actually felt a little strange and a little excited coming to a new place. But I think Ying and I missed home. It was getting a little long and tiring all at the same time.

Coming out from the lift! Sending ZQ off

Zheng qian left for Roma terminal!

Today Zhengqian left for his flight back to SIngapore. So we walked around the streets early in the morning searching for souvenirs as he wanted to bring them back to SIngapore. Later on, we sent him off at the train station. Ying and I went to settle our tickets to munich as well. In fact it was Munchen. We decided to stay for one more night in Rome to accompany Kang. But we couldn't get the tickets for the next day evening train so we had to leave in the morning. (went through a lot of trouble at the train station!) We went to stay at a Korean family house. It was so much nicer and better than Guys' Hostel. And not to mention, the korean food there was great!!!

This time, without Zhengqian we really bumped around the streets of Rome... haha... we discovered a neighbourhood stall selling pasta ... that waiter was really a leacher. Tried to kiss Ying and keep on asking Kang and I if we were loverS!? Could anyone be so ?! I guess it's the first time they see Asians in the area. Well, anyway the pasta there was really good and cheap. When I went to the washroom and came out, I saw the waiter coming down, I was horrified when he wanted to kiss me. Immediately I backed away.... my goodness too much passion ... Luckily he did not come forward. ANyway we were really not talking to one another but using body language as he did not know how to speak english.. but knew a little Japanese which I am not good either.

Ever went to a cathedral and fell asleep during service? Well we did. We walked into San Giovanni along the way, sat down to enjoy the aircon and slept like nobody's business. Could you imagine how the people behind were looking at us? Haha... It's like our heads were swinging non stop! Heheee... But I was glad that we managed to be there. The church was beautiful.

Again we passed by the Colosseo and Kang took some pictures there as he had not gone there before and we proceeded back to the Korean family house at 6 plus.. there were cyclists gathering at Colosseo (Fighting against using weapons or something like that) really kind of exciting to watch something like this going on in another country. After dinner in the Korean family house, we drank beer, talked and ate peaches. The koreans in the Korean family house didn't talk much to us ... kinda sad at that time,... wished that we could have interacted more and I thought that I really need to build up my korean language. Kang and I chatted until pretty late that night again. Well it was the last night before Ying and I left for Germany... it would be a long time before we got to see each other again.

Receiving Kang

Kang was coming to Rome today! We were so happy! Heehee... We went to the train station to wait for him... he was really late and we were planning to go to Piazza San Pietro... what was that place? Well it was a city of chapels... basically. It is Vatican City! Heard of it from television but to see it in real life.? Tht was really an experience.

We ate lunch at a restaurant near San Pietro. Was Kang angry or what? Haha the restaurant service sucked. The food sucked. But our mood was not dampened. We queued up for a long time before we got in. WHILE we were waiting outside...(mind you the queue was from the vatican city entrance all the way to Piazza San pietro and we queued for like 1 hour plus) there were many black guys selling branded glasses and branded bags.. Kang bought an LV bag from there haha.. he was so happy cos he wanted to give to his sister or mother??? I can't remember. anyway we managed to get into Vatican City and took a look at all the art pieces. They were so beautiful and truly avant grande. Kang wanted to find the picture drawn by Micheal Angelo but we simply couldn't find it. By evening, it was time to go off. We walked and walked and discovered an ice cream shop. It only cost 1.50 Euros. We were delighted and each of us got a three scoops ice cream!

Walking along Basilica di San Pietro, we passed by castel sant'angelo! There were many people selling stuff there. We bought a few art pieces from a man and I bought a sunglass from another black guy while Kang bought another two bags from another guy. We took many pictures of the night scenery and many pictures of various fountains....We walked till we reached Piazza di Spagna, took pictures and drank there before going back to our hostel. As we walked back, Kang and I talked a lot... the four of us went to a cafe restaurant at 12am at night and continued talking and playing cards even when we went back... Kang and I talked till 5am in the morning in our room. Think I was really getting to know him better by then...
